Traffic beacon is a signal flashing red or yellow light hung over an intersection or placed over signs or on obstacles in the road. There are two types of flashing beacon lights:
Normally found above an intersection or a stop sign. You can treat a flashing red beacon as a stop sign. You must come to a complete stop and follow the right-of-way rules. Only proceed through the intersection when it is safe to do so.
A flashing yellow beacon warns drivers to drive with caution. You will see a flashing yellow beacon above an intersection, above a warning sign or on an obstruction in the road.
