A stop sign is an octagon shape and has a red colour background with white colour letters “STOP”. A stop sign means you must come to a complete stop.
Stop before the stop line if it is visible on the road. Front bumper of your vehicle should not go over the stop line.
You can stop at the crosswalk if there is not stop line marked on the road.
If there is no stop line and no crosswalk then you are required to stop before the edge of the sidewalk.
If there is no sidewalk then you can stop before the edge of the intersection. Wait until the way is clear and drivers must yield right-of-way to pedestrians before entering in the intersection.
